Corporate Responsibility
Corporate Responsibility
Here at Little Seed Group, we believe that giving back to our local community in North Yorkshire is part of our corporate responsibility. This is because we firmly believe it’s important to be ethical in business. Our fundraising is just one way in which we do good through our business.
So, throughout the year, we allocate a set number of days where we volunteer at charities and not for profit organisations. On these days, we fundraising challenges to help these organisations reach their goals.
Here are just a few fundraisers and challenges that we have taken on to help Yorkshire causes.

Hedgehog Emergency Rescue – Fundraiser
In late 2019, we raised over £450 for a West Yorkshire hedgehog rescue who desperately needed an incubator to save young hedgehogs’ lives. Over a ten-hour period, we performed several charitable digital audits in order to raise the funds required.
In November 2019, Hedgehog Emergency Rescue received the incubator. This has consequently played a huge role in increasing their hedgehog success rates.

The Island – Fundraiser
In August 2019, our Director and Founder, Ellen ran (mainly walked) the York 10k to raise funds for York’s much-loved children’s charity, The Island.
Ellen completed her 10k in 1 hour and 31 minutes and grew her charity total to an amazing £265. As a result, The Island could guarantee six months of mentoring sessions for a local child struggling with their mental, emotional and/or social wellbeing.

The Island – Volunteer Mentoring
In early 2021, Ellen began volunteering with The Island as a one-to-one volunteer mentor. Currently she is mentoring a young person online. But, the sessions will become face to face once lockdown restrictions ease.
Over the next 12 months, Ellen will be helping to raise the confidence, self-esteem and resilience levels of her young person so that they can take positive steps forward within their lives.
